Watching & Waiting on the Puppies!

I decided to begin blogging about my future Grandpups... our Weimaraner, Gracie, is 2 1/2 years old and is on her 59th day of pregnancy.  Typically, dogs are pregnant for only 58-65 days!  Can you imagine??

At this stage in the game, we are ready to meet the new pups any day now.  Gracie had the priveledge of being "courted" by a beautiful 4-year-old Weim, Ike, who is no longer with us... after falling in love for week, Ike was back at his home and was tragically struck by a truck and had to be put down.  This was the saddest thing- we fell in love with the little guy and felt like he was one of our own.  Amanda, Ike's mom, has been great- she has been involved every step of the way and cannot wait to see her Grandpups!  Below is on the ride home after they knew each other for one full day!  Gracie is the one in the orange collar.

Nonetheless, Ike's legacy lives on and soon we will meet the pups he so graciously left behind!

Gracie is growing everyday- she is actually huge!  At last weigh-in, she gained 8 pounds in just 10 days!  Her belly is full of pups- we saw at least 5 on the x-ray.  The Vet looks for puppy spines- so, we counted what we could and felt comfortable with preparing for at least 5.

My retired Methodist Minister Grandfather, Bill Holt, will be baptizing the pups as soon as they are ready to go out and play!

In case you were wondering- yes, we are obsessed!!! Here is me and Gracie on her 1st Birthday last September!

Interested in a puppy?  First do your research on Weimaraners- they are a fun, family breed, but need a lot of exercise and a big yard.  These are primarily indoor dogs, as they LOVE to be near their owners at all time!  Send me your contact info and we'll stay in touch!  Not sure on pricing yet.  These pups will be ready to go to your home early July (8 weeks old).  I fully intend on potty training prior to them getting to you!  Gracie's breeders did that and it was a LIFESAVER!!  Email me at cartledge123@gmail.com

Follow my blog to stay updated and to see lots of pictures of the little guys!!!
